Semi-update: Action poses
The next part of the independent study is to do action sketches. I'm not finished with these yet, but I wanted to show off what I've done so far. I've never done this kind of drawing with figures before, only with objects such as boxes and jars. As I've been working on this, I am seeing why people keep things light at first so they can fix mistakes. The tutorial sent to me by my Professor that showed reference shots of hands was very helpful in improving how I draw them, though there is of course still a lot to improve upon. Looking at the screenshot of my drawings, I can see some errors in them that are less apparent to me when I look at the actual sheet of paper. These drawings aren't complete, but I do feel that I'm learning a lot from this.

Sam,
ReplyDeleteRedo the pose and follow the examples on Simplifying the body. Focus more on the abstraction to get the gesture, weight and balance etc. right.
Specifically look at Figure 2.40. A manikin,
Figure 2.41. Stick figure and solid model,Figure 2.44. Center of mass,Figure 2.45. The center of mass moves when the body bends,Figure 2.46. Motion
